How much are academies charging for Goalkeeper Training in the US today?

We can start with goalkeeper camps.
The leader in Goalkeeper camps in both Europe and the US is J4K. I’m not saying that they’re the best, but in the summertime they have two dozen camps happening in the US alone and that is more than any other GK school network worldwide (one of them is the J4K Port Orange FL GK Camp June 4th through 6th).

Lets use my camp as the example. The Port Orange camp lasts 3 days, 18 hours total, the cost of the camp is $175.00, however you also get a free pair of J4K goalkeeper gloves at no extra cost ($50.00 value). The average J4K camp in the US lasts 2 days and costs $197.00. So, I’m shooting a lot lower than my fellow J4K coaches, even though I have the most advanced GK equipment than any other GK school in the country.

Now, lets head to the major search engines and search for some Goalkeeper camps happening this summer:

SGA a well known GK academy located in Simsbury, Connecticut has 3 camps happening this summer. A full 4 day camp will cost you from $615 to $1,000.
No1SoccerCamps, also a well known GK school has many camps happening this summer, one will be held at the University of Dallas from June 10 through 14 and start from $649 to $989.
Camp Shutout, like the two above GK schools, claim to be the best Goalkeeper academy in the nation… They have a 6 day camp happening in June. The standard Keeper rate (youth) is $899 to the advanced rate that costs a grand.

I’ll stop right there as the price range for nationwide known GK schools is just that!

How about the GK academies, are they all a chip-in like the Zee Goalkeeper Academy? I doubt it as I still have to find an academy that is more about development rather than the cash. Lot’s of people think it’s silly many say I’m a fool, but thats how I want it to be. That’s why my academy is full, I don’t put a hole in parents pockets and their children get the training they need and deserve!

OK, so let’s stop patting myself on the back and do some research:

Orlando City has a Goalkeeper academy that lasts for 6 weeks (once a week) at a cost of $240.
Same with the TSF Academy 6 weeks (once a week) for a total cost of $275.
Florida Rush has a good summer academy 12 lessons From June 5th to July 19th for $200.

…and one-on-one personal training?

I’ve seen GK coaches charge up to $175 per hour. The average price for a personal training session in Florida runs around $60.00 per hour.
I charge $40.00 per 90 minutes, other J4K goalkeeper coaches also charge around that price range (per hour). I add the extra 30 minutes as you really cant get that much out of a session in just one hour. The cost of the session itself is also way below average, in order to open up to the families that want their children to have these private lessons without cutting a hole in their pocketbooks.

In my personal opinion, if you’re paying more than $60.00 per hour for a personal goalkeeper lesson, then it’s not worth it! DO NOT invest in anything that costs more, that of course unless who is giving the lesson is a certain Hope Solo or Tim Howard (lol).
