24 goalkeepers ages 8 to 18 came together at Southside Sports Complex in Lake City Florida in this three day Summer Goalkeeper Camp. Some keepers were already at an advanced stage and others simply starters, but they all went home with a huge package of confidence on how to stop that ball from entering their goal 🙂
Our Goalkeeper Staff covered all areas of Goalkeeping through out the three days. Every goalkeeper was one-by-one evaluated during most the morning sessions, thus to assure that every goalkeeper was getting the training they need to improve their GK skills and succeed in their goalkeeping in general. At the ZEE Goalkeeper Academy we believe that the modern game demands that Goalkeepers be at their best not only in the goal, but on the field as well and for this we teamed up with Daytona State College bringing to this camp players from that soccer program to assist in the footwork training (one hour per day per age group).
It was very rewarding to see how much talent bloomed during these three days of camp and how many students pushed to the limit setting off skills that they didn’t know they had.
This was our third goalkeeper camp in Lake City and the largest so far!
A special thanks goes out to the Columbia Youth Soccer Association (Lake City) that was the co-host of this amazing event. We will be back again in Lake City in the Fall for a Colombia County High School goalkeeper clinic and I can’t wait!
