Bologna manager Thiago Motta praised Juventus’ squad depth after substitute Samuel Mbangula scored a dramatic late winner in their clash against PSV. The young forward’s decisive goal showcased the strength of Juve’s bench, reinforcing their ability to compete on multiple fronts this season.
Mbangula Seals the Victory
Juventus and PSV were locked in a tight contest before Mbangula, coming off the bench, delivered the crucial goal in the dying moments of the match. The 19-year-old forward capitalized on a defensive lapse, slotting the ball past the goalkeeper to secure a hard-fought win for the Bianconeri.
The victory highlighted the effectiveness of Juventus’ substitutions, with Mbangula proving to be the game-changer. His impact off the bench underlined the importance of squad depth as Juve continues to push for success in both domestic and European competitions.
Motta’s Praise for Juventus’ Depth
After the match, Thiago Motta, who has been linked with a future role at Juventus, lauded the club’s ability to rely on fresh legs from the bench. He emphasized that having quality substitutes can make the difference in crucial moments.
“Juventus showed today that their strength goes beyond the starting XI,” Motta said. “Mbangula came in and changed the game, which is exactly what a team needs when competing at the highest level.”
With Juventus battling in Serie A and European competitions, their depth will be key in managing player fatigue and maintaining consistency throughout the season.

While key stars remain pivotal to the team’s success, the ability to bring in impact substitutes has given Juventus an edge in close matches. If their bench continues to deliver, the Bianconeri will be a formidable force as they chase silverware.
